Unexpected Transitions: From Lifeboats to Online Learning

At the height of pandemic, schools across country shut down, shifting classrooms to a remote learning modality. While use emergency teaching (ERT) provided an alternative for schools, it was difficult transition. Online is often compared with ERT, although two are different. Where ERT quick and temporary resolution, online long-term investment developed provide quality educational experience students. Both necessary lifelines learning, but education vital in multiple ways. Rather than substitute, core fixture on higher ed landscape, more students, faculty, administrators recognizing education's benefits. This essay explores as different contexts.
